Upholding Integrity in
Digital Content
Ecosystems.
A non-profit industry consortium dedicated to protecting creators' rights, documenting infringement, and coordinating enforcement action across global digital content markets.
Our Mission & Purpose
The Intellectual Property Integrity Alliance is an independent, non-profit industry body established to protect the legitimate rights of digital content creators and distributors against unauthorized reproduction, distribution, and monetisation of copyrighted works.
IPIA coordinates the identification and structured reporting of platforms that facilitate the unauthorized sale, streaming, or redistribution of protected digital media — conduct that constitutes a direct violation of applicable copyright law, platform licensing obligations, and international intellectual property treaties.
Operating as a neutral industry clearinghouse, the Alliance aggregates documented evidence from member rights holders and submits formal takedown notices, cease-and-desist filings, and infringement reports to hosting providers, platform operators, and relevant judicial and regulatory authorities in accordance with established legal frameworks.

Compliance
Framework
IPIA operates within established international and jurisdictional legal frameworks governing copyright protection, digital content licensing, and the obligations of online service providers.
Digital Millennium Copyright Act
The DMCA establishes the primary framework for the enforcement of copyright in digital environments. Under Section 512, online service providers and hosting platforms are obligated to expeditiously remove or disable access to infringing content upon receipt of a valid takedown notice from a rights holder or their authorised representative. Failure to comply may result in the loss of safe harbour protections and exposure to direct liability.
IPIA prepares and submits DMCA-compliant takedown notices on behalf of its member organisations, ensuring that all filings include the requisite identification of infringing material, ownership attestation, and good-faith declarations required under applicable statutory provisions.
EU Digital Single Market Copyright Directive
Directive (EU) 2019/790 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market introduces heightened obligations for online content-sharing service providers. Article 17 places direct responsibility on platforms for the availability of unauthorised copyright-protected material uploaded by their users, requiring the implementation of effective content recognition mechanisms and the adoption of licensing agreements with rights holders.
IPIA monitors platform compliance with DSM Directive obligations across EU member state jurisdictions and coordinates structured infringement reports where platforms demonstrably fail to meet their statutory duties to prevent the recurrence of notified infringing content.
Note: All enforcement submissions prepared by IPIA are reviewed for legal sufficiency prior to filing. The Alliance does not initiate litigation directly; remedial action is pursued through the relevant platform operators, hosting providers, and — where necessary — competent judicial or regulatory authorities in the applicable jurisdiction.
